19th Annual National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition

November 14, 2016 | By Alexa Brown -- This past weekend, Pepperdine School of Law hosted its 19th Annual National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition. Teams from across the country traveled to Malibu to compete and argue complex applications of trademark infringement law in the context of entertainment. Over seventy four attorneys from the Greater Los Angeles Area served as judges for the event, with Dean Tacha -- former Chief Judge for the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals -- serving as the Chief Judge for the final round. Professor Hillary Reed, Program Coordinator Patty Hayes, and the Moot Court Board administered the competition.

The competition is one of many entertainment-related events and programs at Pepperdine University and the School of Law, including the recent launch of the Institute for Entertainment, Media, and Sports (IEMS) and a new certificate and LLM in Entertainment, Media, and Sports Law.
