Professor Tom Stipanowich Receives California Lawyers Association ADR Hall of Fame Award
Professor Thomas J. Stipanowich, who holds the William Webster Chair in Dispute Resolution, was named the recipient of the 2024 California Lawyers Association ADR Hall of Fame Award. The award "recognizes distinguished service in the promotion or development of ADR or for significant contributions or impact in the ADR field." The award was presented to Professor Stipanowich by California Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero at the annual meeting of the California Lawyers Association in San Jose on Friday, September 6, 2024.
The award committee honored Professor Stipanowich for his contributions as a noted scholar and thought leader, dispute resolution professional, and head of two of the most prominent organizations in the field of dispute resolution - the New York-based International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) (2001-2006) and Pepperdine Caruso Law's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution (2006-2020).
Stipanowich noted, "I am especially gratified to receive this honor in light of California's preeminent role in our modern era of conflict resolution."
