Professor Colleen Graffy Discusses US Presidential Election on BBC World Programs
Professor Colleen P. Graffy discussed the United States presidential election in a series of appearances on BBC World Service and BBC World News TV programs.
Professor Graffy took part in election night coverage on November 5 for the BBC World Service program, Newsday. She commented on the likely election of Donald Trump and what his presidency would mean for the rest of the world, particularly Ukraine.
On November 11, Professor Graffy appeared on BBC World TV to discuss president-elect Donald Trump's appointments to key Cabinet positions in his new administration. She also commented on the role of the Senate in the confirmation process and concerns about recess appointments in potentially undermining the checks and balances among the three branches of government.
Professor Graffy spoke on the BBC's Weekend Program with the New York Times' London Bureau Chief, Mark Landler on November 18. The program is broadcast globally on the BBC World Service and in the US on NPR. The two-and-a-half hour long radio program covered key news stories including president-elect Donald Trump's foreign policy and national security cabinet choices as it relates to Ukraine and the Middle East, COP 29, immigration, and the storming of the parliament in Abkhazia. Professor Graffy also spoke about the recent publication of the book, The Dictators, to which she authored the chapter on General Augusto Pinochet.
