Professor Chris Goodman Leads Racial Justice Workshop-International Edition Study Tour in Switzerland
Professor Christine Chambers Goodman led a Racial Justice Workshop-International Edition Study Tour in Switzerland on March 4-7 with 14 Pepperdine Caruso Law students. The study tour began on Monday, March 4 with a dinner that included Seaver College pre-law students who are studying at Pepperdine University's Château d'Hauteville. On Tuesday, March 5 the study tour included a lecture on Swiss history and culture in the Grand Salon of the Château, a tour of the Château, and then a dinner with local alumnae.
The study tour continued on Wednesday, March 6 with a tour of the United Nations and a briefing with staff from the Permanent Forum and Working Group on People of African Descent. On Thursday, March 7 the group participated in a guided tour at the Château de Prangins exhibit on the global importance of chintz fabric, and Switzerland's role in the triangle trade. The study tour group then visited the University of Lausanne to conduct presentations on affirmative action and to engage in case-briefing exercises with students in an Introduction to American Law class.
