Professor Chris Goodman Presents "Artificial Intelligence and Access to Justice" -- Los Angeles County Bar Association
In her role as Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach for the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), Professor Chris Chambers Goodman presented "Artificial Intelligence and Access to Justice: Challenges and Opportunities." The professional webinar addressed the ways in which artificial intelligence can expand access to justice, as well as magnify barriers to justice. More than 40 participants attended the webinar, including one of Professor Goodman's former students. The webinar was co-sponsored by the LACBA Diversity in the Profession Section.

Artificial Intelligence and Access to Justice: Challenges and Opportunities
This program will begin with a brief overview of uses of AI in legal profession, and discuss ways of using AI to widen access to justice. It will then explain some ways in which AI can magnify barriers to justice, and discuss the impacts of access and availability of data. The program will conclude with a discussion of ethical constraints and considerations.
