Prison Project 2016

June 20th through June 24th is the big week this year! Our Global Justice Program has invited lawyers and judges to join the team as we travel to Western Uganda for this year's Prison Project. We plan on working in three prisons, one in Fort Portal and two in Mbarara. The full team will consist of the short-term American lawyers and judges traveling for that week, our Global Justice student interns who are living in Uganda working for the Judiciary, Ugandan law students, and Ugandan lawyers. We anticipate training the local lawyers and judges in these cities on plea bargaining in conjunction with preparing about 200 cases for resolution.

We are excited and anticipate keeping you updated throughout that week with blog posts, pictures, and videos of our time in Uganda!
