Global Village Day 2015

On September 8, 2015, international students and the entire law school community participated in Pepperdine Law's first ever Global Village Day. Part of the 2015 Diversity Week, Global Village Day celebrated national, regional, and ethnic cultures. Each table had a representation of a particular culture's food, music, and fashion. On top of the fun atmosphere and cultural education, this event was a great time to learn more about fellow students. Lead organizer of the event Al Sturgeon stated, "Diversity Week is designed to help all of the students across the Straus/JD divide get to know each other early on so we get to know and celebrate one another and what each culture brings to the school."

All of the nationalities represented in the SBA ethnic student organizations and Straus Institute were featured. Students, faculty and staff representations included : American South, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, Armenian Law Students Association, Augsburg Exchange Students, Belgium, Black Law Students Association, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Hispanic Law Students Association, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Jewish Law Students Association, Kuwait, Mexico, Native American, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, and United Arab Emirates.
