Lusik Gasparyan (Class of 2017) receives Beverly Hills Bar Association Scholarship for public service
June 20, 2016 -- Pepperdine Law rising 3L Lusik Gasparyan recently received a scholarship from the Beverly Hills Bar Association in recognition of her commitment to public service. Gasparyan was one of seven local law students honored at the association's 62nd Annual California Supreme Court Luncheon held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on June 1.

Lusik Gasparyan--Pepperdine University School of Law Beverly Hills Bar Association 2016 Scholarship Recipient
Lusik Gasparyan's dedication to public service is exemplified by her interest in children's rights. After graduating from California State University, L.A. with a B.A. in Fashion Design, cum laude, and a minor in criminal justice, she decided on the law so she could make a difference, especially given her dedication to advocating for children and victims' rights. While at Pepperdine, Lusik has studied arbitration and mediation in London, Paris and Geneva through the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. She is an advocate at the Pepperdine domestic violence clinic, was a law clerk at the Children's Law Center of California working at the L.A. County Children's Dependency Court, and President of Law Students as Catalyst for Youth. She volunteered with Advocates for Public Interest Law's Arrest Rights Workshop, was a policy researcher for the Counsel to Secure Justice researching child rape cases in India, and taught life skills workshops to adolescent detainees at the Gonzales Juvenile Camp in Calabasas.
