Tina Patterson (MDR ‘21) Receives ABA Dispute Resolution Fellowship
Tina Patterson, an experienced dispute resolution professional who is currently pursuing her Master in Dispute Resolution (MDR) degree with the Straus Institute, was selected for the American Bar Association (ABA) Dispute Resolution (DR) Section's Fellowship Program.
Ms. Patterson serves as Principal for Jade Solutions, LLC and has been on the panels for the American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), among others.
The Fellowship is directed at cultivating the next generation of leadership by equipping Fellows to grow their career and professional network in the ADR field. In the first year of the program, Fellows will receive preferential access to the DR Section's publications and be mentored by leaders of the Section's Committee members. They will be engaged in a variety of research and writing activities, and can opt to extend their fellowship into a second year where they will work on a project aligned with their area of interest in ADR, presenting their work that highlights their contribution and engages Section members.
Professor Stephanie Blondell who serves as an advisor to Ms. Patterson shares, "We are thrilled to hear about Tina receiving the ABA Fellowship. She goes out of her way to seek counsel and guidance of mentors in the field, despite the fact that she, indeed, is a mentor herself with 15 years' experience as an arbitrator and mediator. She positions herself as a lifelong student, which is a testament to her character."
Fellowships are available in the following areas: ADR practice, Arbitration, Diversity, International, Mediation, and Ombuds. Ms. Patterson will pursue her fellowship in the International Committee.
