Students from Restoration and Justice Clinic Secure Vacatur Relief for Victim of Human Trafficking

November 29, 2017 -- On November 15, third year law students Erica Baca and Spencer Penuela secured vacatur relief (criminal record expungement and sealing) on behalf of a victim of human trafficking in the Van Nuys Courthouse.

The relief granted vacates all of the victim's pasts arrests and convictions that stem from human trafficking. The client, now free from the restraints of the victimization, will be able to pursue higher education and meaningful work.
