Stephanie Blondell Speaks at Collective Bargaining and Arbitration Conference

Professor Stephanie Blondell delivered the plenary session for the Labor Employment Relations Association 41st Annual Collective Bargaining and Arbitration Conference, Northwest Chapter to over five hundred attendees. The plenary was entitled "When Good Negotiators Make Bad Decisions: A Look at Ethical Fading in Negotiations." While a foundational approach to negotiation ethics includes thorough knowledge of relevant codes, statutes, and rules, this session took an alternate approach to ethics examining the range of psychological process that lead people to engage in ethically questionable behaviors that are inconsistent with their preferred moral code. Professor Blondell also delivered a break out session entitled "Negotiation Skills and Drills, " with a focus on table skills including artful openings, the skillful articulation of leverage, and asking questions.
