Roxanne Baker and Shayna Elian Successfully Represent Client in Florida Court

Pepperdine Caruso Law students Roxanne Baker and Shayna Elian of the Restoration and Justice Clinic successfully represented a client in the Florida criminal justice system. Baker and Elian prevailed on a motion to quash their client's bench warrant and dismiss the underlying prostitution charge. Baker and Elian's client is a survivor of sex trafficking and an open warrant from 2008 was not only creating roadblocks to her personal and professional goals, but also left the client in constant fear of a potential arrest. Through diligent advocacy over the semester in California, Baker and Elian successfully navigated the criminal justice system in Florida. Their client is grateful and relieved.
