Professor Jeffrey Baker Presents "Cross-Cultural Practice and Communication" -- The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple

Professor Jeffrey R. Baker presented an online Qualifying Session for barristers at the Middle Temple Inn of Court in London, titled "Cross-Cultural Practice and Communication." Pepperdine Caruso School of Law has a long-established relationship with Middle Temple through the London Program.

From The Honorable Society of the Middle Temple:

Good lawyering and effective advocacy require persuasive communication, credibility, trust, and deep understanding of a client's (or opponent's) situation. Context is everything, and context is complex in an increasingly diverse, global, and multicultural world. In this Qualifying Session, participants will identify needs and challenges of cross-cultural practice and will discuss strategies for improving communication across cultures. The Session will focus on the relationships between lawyers and clients, lawyers and opposing counsel, and advocates and courts.
