Professor Colleen Graffy Presents "Pandemic Pedagogy: Technology to the Rescue!" -- Southern Illinois University School of Law
Professor Colleen P. Graffy presented "Pandemic Pedagogy: Technology to the Rescue!" at Southern Illinois University School of Law's virtual symposium, "Innovations in International Legal Education during the Pandemic: Breaking Down Physical Barriers and Borders with Technology and Cutting-Edge Teaching Pedagogies." Professor Graffy's presentation looked at the advantages that pandemic-imposed online teaching has brought to the classroom and how this could be applied to international legal education.
As the former Academic Director of Pepperdine Caruso's London Law Program for over 25 years, Professor Graffy posited that technology is finally catching up to what educators have needed in order to create seamless interaction between international programs and the main campus and that this technology would eliminate many of the barriers to participation. In addition to international legal education applications, she described the new HyFlex classroom of the future where on-line technology will be adapted for use by faculty and students when we are back in the classroom to create hybrid opportunities. The downside: there will be no more Snow Days.
