Pepperdine Law Online Program Launches Washington, DC Intensive Study
Pepperdine Law Online launched its first in-person intensive course in the nation's capital last week. From October 3–6, the inaugural Law & Study Tour: Washington, DC. was held at Pepperdine's DC campus. In the four-day intensive course, students studied how federal law is formed, influenced, challenged, and enforced. In addition to classroom instruction by Professor Nancy Hunt, Director of the Washington, DC Externship Semester, students heard from alumni who spoke on panels about their work on the Hill, in agencies, and in lobbying. Students also toured the Capitol, the Library of Congress, and the United States Supreme Court, learning about these important institutions and gaining context for the classroom lectures. Students enjoyed learning from Professor Hunt, from a distinguished group of speakers, from specialized tours and visits, and from one another.
Thank you to alumni Landon Derentz, Brian Hunt, Brittany Hughes, Kate Prochaska, Cicely Simpson, Josh Snead, and Sarah Tressler for enriching this experience for our students.
Professor Hunt is the author of "Lawyering in the Nation's Capital," and she designed, built, and taught the DC Study Tour for our online MLS and MDR students.
