Pepperdine Caruso Law Team Competes in Inaugural National Esports Contract Negotiation Competition

On November 5th and 6th, Pepperdine Caruso Law students Jason Baker (3L), Darren Adjei (3L), and Brandon Posivak (2L) competed on behalf of Caruso Law in the first ever National Esports Contract Negotiation Competition hosted by Villanova Law School.  Acting as representatives for various teams in the international esports league OWL, the team's goal in each round of the competition was to use their presentation and negotiation skills to secure the commitment of highly lauded gamers and the signing of a contract with terms favorable to both the player and the team.

After several successful contract negotiations, the Caruso Law team made it all the way to the quarterfinals. One judge praised the group as "fantastic negotiators," and another stated that the quarterfinal round was the most difficult decision between teams that he has had to make due to the Caruso Law team's very effective negotiating style.
