Pepperdine Caruso Law Summer 2020 Elective Course: Law and Practice in Times of Crisis
Pepperdine Caruso Law will offer a new summer 2020 elective course for JD students taught by Professor Jeff Baker, titled "Law and Practice in Times of Crisis." The course is a new 3-unit, graded, upper-level elective. It will be project- and paper-based and will not have a final exam. Projects will be in-class presentations. The paper will be formal and academic but will not be long enough for the upper-level writing requirement. Topics include disaster law; lawyer ethics; insurance; inequity in disasters; housing; contracts; employment; business continuity; courts; criminal justice; and pro bono practice.
