Michael Reaves, Shruti Aggrawal, Gabrielle Mix

Pepperdine Caruso Law is pleased to congratulate Michael Reaves, Shruti Aggarwal, and Gabrielle Mix for post-graduate employment success!

Michael Reaves will be a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Kathleen M. Drakulich in the Second Judicial District Court of Nevada. In addition to her duties as a general jurisdiction judge presiding over civil and criminal matters, Judge Drakulich serves as a Business Court Judge. Michael will serve as a clerk for one year beginning in August 2023, after which he is interested in pursuing federal service. Michael  acquired the position with the help of the Caruso Law Career Development Office. He is thankful to Ann Chang and Alexis Joyce for their assistance and encouragement in the clerkship application process.

Shruti Aggarwal will be a patent litigation associate at ScienBizIp, a patent law firm that also does work in other intellectual property areas. Shruti applied to ScienBizIp through Symplicity and, after the interview process, worked as a summer associate at the firm during her 2L summer. During that time, she worked on various projects by aiding in motion drafting and legal research, alongside trial prep and settlement negotiations. Shruti accepted an offer in August to start as a full-time associate, working directly under the litigation partner, following her graduation. She is currently serving as an extern with the firm throughout the school year to gain a more nuanced understanding of the cases and clients.

Gabrielle Mix will be a post-bar law clerk with the Ventura County District Attorney's Office. She will be participating in a training program that will include practical experience, instruction, and courtroom exposure. The salaried clerk position is a stepping stone to a full deputy district attorney position, dependent on being admitted to the California Bar in November, 2023. Gabrielle has externed as a clerk with the Los Angeles District Attorney's office since August, 2021, and her experiences there led her to pursue a position as a prosecutor. She learned of the Ventura District Attorney post-bar law clerk position through Los Angeles District Attorney contacts and applied with an online application. Gabrielle was then chosen for an in-person interview with three Ventura Deputy District Attorneys. Her score for that interview advanced her to an interview with District Attorney Erik Nasarenko, after which she received an offer of employment. Gabrielle will begin working in September, 2023.

Congratulations to Michael, Shruti, and Gabrielle on their well-deserved positions.
