Fall 2018 Practicum Applications: Immigration Law, Employment Law, Health Law, Veterans Law - LA and Ventura
Applications are open for the Fall 2018 practicum courses. Practicums are field placement courses, like externships, with partner agencies. The partners guarantee seats for Pepperdine students in specific practice areas. You can find detailed information in the registration documents, course schedules and catalog, and you can see descriptions at this link: https://law.pepperdine.edu/experiential-learning/clinical-education/practicums/
The Health Law, Immigration Law, Employment Law, and Veterans Law (Los Angeles) practicum courses are with Neighborhood Legal Services. These are experiential courses for 2, 3, or 4 units requiring 1, 1.5, or 2 days of work per week.
The Veterans Law Practicum (Ventura) is with the Ventura County Public Defender in Veterans Treatment Court. It is a 4 unit course requiring 2 full days of work per week.
Practicums require applications to the partner agencies. If interested, please submit a cover letter and resume to clinicallaw@pepperdine.edu. For practicums with Neighborhood Legal Services, address letters to Sharon Bashan. For the practicum with the Ventura Public Defender, address letters to Andre Nintcheff.
The first round of applications is due by Friday, April 20.
Address any questions to Professor Baker at jeff.baker@pepperdine.edu or Sydney Linnell at sydney.linnell@pepperdine.edu.
These practicums are open to 2Ls and 3Ls and offer extraordinary, hands-on experience with expert attorneys in their practice areas.
