Dean Paul Caron Joins Dozens of Law Deans Calling For Diploma Privilege For Class of 2020 Graduates

Dean Paul L. Caron has signed an open letter along with dozens of law deans from across the nation asking that recent law graduates be granted a diploma privilege due to the uncertainties of the ongoing pandemic.

Excerpt from An Open Letter on the 2020 Bar Exam from Law Deans:

When the dust has settled on this incredibly difficult season, we hope that the conversations about better ways to license attorneys that have been taking place for many years will be had with greater urgency. But, in the meantime, some form of diploma privilege that allows new lawyers to have a sense of certainty and a solid ground to stand on is the most compassionate choice for high Courts and bar examiners to make.
