Straus Cohort Led by Professors Blondell and Singh Present ADR Training for Federal Judges

On December 4, 2019, Professors Stephanie Blondell and Sukhsimranjit Singh, along with Straus adjunct faculty member Stacie Hausner, and Bob Tessier (JD '96), presented a day-long training to federal judges from the Central District of California.

Titled "Advanced Skills for Avoiding Impasse," the training equipped judges with information and skills on managing negotiations, understanding the impact of cross-cultural issues on settlements, psychology of conflict in conferences, and communication techniques to facilitate settlement.

Over Straus' more than thirty year history, its faculty have trained thousands of judges on the foundations of dispute resolution, and in turn, improved the culture of conflict and promoted resolution in courthouses--at all levels--across the United States. This training was well received, and took place at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles.
