Many old trusts, now irrevocable, provide income to children, then principal to future descendants, with the proviso that "adoptions shall not be recognized," and so all beneficiaries must be related by blood to the settlor. In today's world, same-sex couples and those who have fertility issues often use donated gametes to procreate; are their children, who are not genetically related to the settlor, included in these trusts?
