Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell (JD '90) Posthumously Presented Joan Dempsey Klein Distinguished Jurist Award

August 23, 2018 | Pepperdine Law alumnus and Board of Advisors member Dan O'Connell (JD '90) accepted the prestigious Joan Dempsey Klein Distinguished Jurist Award on behalf of his wife, alumna Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell (JD '90), presented by California Women Lawyers.  The California Women Lawyers held a ceremony honoring the late Judge O'Connell as part of the annual Southern California Judicial Award Reception. The event was held on August 17 at Los Angeles City Hall.

Pepperdine Law alumni and staff were on hand to attend the ceremony and honor Judge O'Connell's legacy that is still carried on at the law school through the Honorable Beverly Reid O'Connell Endowed Scholarship. Several of the alumni in attendance formerly clerked for Judge O'Connell, or worked closely with her in the many ways she was involved in the law school. Pepperdine Law also served as a gold sponsor of the event.
