Pepperdine Caruso Law Students Present "Black Maternal Mortality" -- Seaver College
Pepperdine Caruso Law students Ethan Clements, Ellie Martinez, and Cozette Kim presented "Black Maternal Mortality" to a Seaver College chemistry class of pre-med students. The presentation was the Caruso Law students' final project for professor Chris Goodman's Racial Justice Seminar.
The presentation focused on the statistics and stories of black women of all socio-economic classes suffering grossly disproportionate outcomes in maternal health care. The Caruso Law students also explained the various causes, including weathering and the impact of biases, and proposed a number of potential solutions.
