Pepperdine Caruso Law Participates in Connect Day with Malibu Community Assistance Resource Team

Pepperdine Caruso School of Law clinics, students, and faculty supported the annual Connect Day in Malibu on October 7.  The Malibu Community Assistance Resource Team (C.A.R.T.) helped organize the event to bring together resources for homeless and unhoused people in the local community, including eye exams, counseling, benefits, clean-slate guidance, clothing, food, voter registration, legal advice, and other critical services.

The Pepperdine Legal Aid Clinic and Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, led by Professors Brittany Stringfellow Otey and Isai Cortez, staffed a table with law students to meet and serve clients. The Pepperdine Community Justice Clinic, led by Professor Jeff Baker, serves Malibu C.A.R.T. in the clinic's practice for local nonprofits. In addition, Professor Chris Goodman volunteered to support Connect Day through Our Lady of Malibu Catholic Church.

More on Connect Day may be found at Malibu C.A.R.T.
