Pepperdine Caruso Law Moot Court Team Wins National Civil Rights Competition

Two Pepperdine Caruso Law moot court teams competed in the 38th Annual William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition, which was held remotely on March 2-5. The competition was hosted by Mitchell Hamline School of Law, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Law School

Caruso Law Team X of Mikaela Clinton, Patrick Babajanian, and Chloe Wigul, advanced to the final round and prevailed as the competition Champions. Caruso Law Team E of Kyra Catanghal, Jiaying Li, and Lindsey Kirchhoff, advanced to the outrounds and were quarterfinalists. In addition, Patrick Babajanian ranked Second Best Oral Advocate, and Team X's appellate brief was ranked Third Best Brief. 

Pepperdine Caruso Law alumnus Matthew Myatt ('16, JD ' 19) provided invaluable coaching and support to both teams. Professor Mark Kubisch comments, "I am very proud of these students and their incredible job representing Pepperdine Caruso School of Law at this competition."
