Pepperdine Caruso Law "First Dog" Josie Remembered by Dean Paul Caron

Dean Paul Caron's loyal companion and Caruso Law "First Dog" Josie Shands Caron has passed away. Josie was often present at campus events where she befriended many Caruso Law students, alumni, faculty, and staff. During her time at Pepperdine, Josie attended tennis matches, Wednesday night Bible studies, student dinners, walks with students (on her favorite route), and special parties.

Beloved by her family, Dean Caron pays tribute to Josie, saying, "Josie was a spectacular dog in every way. She was enmeshed in the daily rhythms of our family life. She was strong, energetic, and loved to run and chase her beloved 'binky ball.' She loved all of the adventures we went on through the years. But she equally loved the quiet times at home. She would lie at the feet of whatever family member was home; if more than one person was home, she would lie in a comfortable spot equidistant from each. She was deeply devoted to her family 'pack'..."

Josie will be missed by all her friends at Caruso Law.
