Farewell, Professor Bost: Tom Bost retires after 16 years

By Alexa Brown | On April 26, 2016, Professor Tom Bost taught his last class as a Pepperdine Law professor. Students stood and applauded as Bost gave an emotional farewell:

"This has been just the greatest gig I've ever had; I never could imagine that I would have a second career like this that could be so rich and satisfying."

Faculty and staff gathered in the classroom and lined the halls outside, sending him out with roaring applause, hugs, and a few graceful tears. Tom taught at Pepperdine Law for 16 years and also served on the Pepperdine University Board of Regents and as interim Dean of Pepperdine Law. His whole family has made a deep impact at all levels of the University, and his presence on campus will be dearly missed.

We will miss you, Professor Bost!

Dean Paul Caron's account (via TaxProf Blog)

....Tom served for many years as member and chair of Pepperdine's Board of Regent and was Interim Dean when Pepperdine hired me (the only black mark on his otherwise distinguished career).  Like everyone at Pepperdine, I have enormous respect and affection for Tom, and will miss his daily presence in our lives.

We shamelessly stole the idea from Michigan and organized a moving "clap-off" send-off for Tom's last class today....
