Lawyer Residency Program at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law

Pepperdine Caruso School of Law is launching the Lawyer Residency Program, designed to provide post-bar law clerk employment for recent graduates still preparing for the bar exam and are unemployed as of February 1 in the year following their graduation. As an institution committed to preparing our students for lives of purpose, service, and leadership, we have designed this program to continue the support they received from the beginning of their 1L year all the way to their first meaningful position.

Up to 10 graduates will be selected each year to work as a lawyer-in-residency at a partner institution, engaging in substantive legal work at the level of a post-bar law clerk or first-year attorney. Employers will come from a variety of practice areas, reflecting the diverse interests of Caruso Law’s graduates.

Starting in March following the administration of the February bar exam, the graduates will begin a meaningful career in the law while they await their results. Caruso Law will continue to provide dedicated career placement support to the graduates during this time, allowing them to apply for other positions, while also considering ongoing employment at the partner institution.
