Straus Institute Adjunct Professor Bill Eddy Honored by Southern California Mediation Association
Professor Bill Eddy, who serves as an adjunct professor for the Straus Institute, was recently honored for his distinguished conflict resolution career and contributions to family mediation at the Southern California Mediator Association's annual Family Mediation Institute. Professor Eddy was presented with the organization's Star Award and served as the closing plenary speaker for the event.
Event organizers shared the following about Professor Eddy, "For many mediators Bill Eddy is a true inspiration and we all agree he is one of the stars in family mediation. We could not think of anyone more deserving of this year's SCMA Star Award."
Professor Eddy has taught a variety of courses for the Institute, including Selected Issues in Dispute Resolution: High Conflict Cases. He has devoted his career to the study of High Conflict Personalities in legal disputes and interpersonal relationships. Through his work as co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of the High Conflict Institute, Professor Eddy has trained lawyers, mediators, judges, mental health professionals and others on managing high-conflict personalities in over 30 states and ten countries. He is the developer of the New Ways for Families skills-training method for high conflict divorce and New Ways for Mediation method for high conflict cases. He has written twenty books and manuals, including the new co-authored book, BIFF for CoParent Communication: Your Guide to Difficult CoParent Texts, Emails and Social Media Posts.
