Steve Roberts (JD '13) Promoted to Captain in the United States Air Force

Pepperdine Caruso Law alumnus and Missouri State Senator Steve Roberts (JD '13) has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. Roberts joined the Missouri Air National Guard in January, 2018. He then went on to complete his Air Force Total Force Officer Training at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. After successfully completing this officer leadership training, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant.

Roberts took office as a Missouri State Senator in January, 2021. He served in the Missouri House for three years before being elected to the Senate. Roberts is the youngest Black senator to serve in the Missouri Senate in the state's history.
