On Friday, April 29, Professor Sukhsimranjit Singh served as the Plenary Speaker at the 2022 American Bar Association’s Spring Conference focused on Dispute Resolution, which took place online. Professor Singh was introduced by Gina Miller, Senior Vice-President of JAMS, and his presentation, “Memory, Culture, and Mediation” centered on cutting-edge research and applications in ADR on the role of memory.

Professor Singh utilized science and ancient wisdom on memory to inspire conference participants to think about the role it plays in disputes. He spoke about how memories are created for individuals and the concept of cultural memory for groups. He closed the discussion on where the data from memory may be utilized by the field of conflict resolution practitioners and scholars.
