Professor Maureen Arellano Weston presented "Dramatic Changes in College Sports" for an ABA Antitrust and Labor Division panel. Professor Weston participated in discussions with Professors Matt Mitten (Marquette), Gabe Feldman (Tulane), and Mark Edelman (Barusch), moderated by New York Assistant Attorney General Bryan Bloom. The panelists addressed the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court 9-0 decision in NCAA v. Alston, as well as the NCAA's recent decision to allow student-athletes to enter into endorsements and profit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights as several state NIL laws also took effect. Professsor Weston also discussed the topic in an interview with CBS Los Angeles.
