Professor Maureen Weston Contributes to "Key Sports Law Cases and Developments of 2021" -- LawInSport

Professor Maureen Arellano Weston has contributed to global sports law commentary in LawInSport's "Key Sports Law Cases and Developments of 2021." Commenting on top sports law issues in North America, Professor Weston's contribution, "A New Era in US College Sports," highlights the dramatic changes in college sports since the Supreme Court’s decision in NCAA v. Alston, holding that National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules restricting athletic-related benefits were in violation of antitrust laws, which forced the NCAA to release restrictions on college players profiting from use of their names, images, and likenesses (NIL), and one-time transfers.

Professor Weston serves on LawInSport’s Editorial Board, many of whom shared their views on what they consider to be the significant developments across the world of sport in 2021. The publication includes contributions from Europe; North America; Central and South America; Asia; Africa and Oceania; and the UK and Ireland.

The publication may be found at LawInSport.
