Professor Jacob Charles Moderates Webinar Discussion on "Gun Rights and Responsibilities in America"
Professor Jacob D. Charles moderated a webinar panel on "Gun Rights and Responsibilities in America" for the Niskanen Center and the American Academy of Political and Social Science. The panel discussed the balance between the desire among many to limit gun owner rights and the responsibilities inherent in gun ownership.
From the Niskanen Center:
This webinar–moderated by prominent Second Amendment scholar Jacob Charles–explores the scope of gun ownership and subsequent responsibilities in the U.S. The panel–Cassandra Crifasi, Michael Ulrich, and Kerri Raissian–discuss the balance between the desire among many to limit gun owner rights and the responsibilities inherent in gun ownership. They demonstrate how, despite the characterization of the debate in the press, policies like gun storage mandates, age of purchase increases, and child access restrictions have consistently been shown to reduce gun injuries. What’s more, they enjoy overwhelming popular support among Americans of both parties.
