Pepperdine Caruso Law Students Compete in NFL Contract Negotiation Competition

Pepperdine Caruso Law Students Andrew Porth, Jason Baker, Joseph Badagliacca, and Charlsey Zyne participated in the 2021 Villanova NFL Negotiation Competition. The competition took place remotely on March 26-27. The goal of the competition is to provide an interactive and educational opportunity for students interested in sports law to learn and engage in mock professional football contract negotiations. Students benefit from feedback from judges with sports industry experience. Third-year law student Charlsey Zyne is in the process of receiving her NFL Contract Advisor certification.

The two Pepperdine teams competed against teams from 24 other schools from across the nation over several rounds, negotiating Free Agent deals for three different players.

Professor Weston lauded the students for their excellent preparation and advocacy skills, and overall enthusiasm in taking advantage of these opportunities to put their skills to test along with law students across the country.
