Pepperdine Caruso Law Disaster Relief Clinic Offers Wildfire Recovery Clinics
The Pepperdine Caruso Law Disaster Relief Clinic offered the first in a series of recovery clinics in response to local wildfires over the weekend of January 18-19. Along with FROST, LLP, led by alumnus Chris Frost (JD '98), the Caruso Law clinical faculty, law students, and other community lawyers provided advice and counsel on insurance and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) questions.
The Disaster Relief Clinic is providing community education, attorney training, and pro bono limited scope clinics. Caruso Law is planning to expand these programs to include direct legal services and other assistance.
Informational videos and materials from the clinic's community education and attorney training webinars on basic FEMA and insurance issues for people who may have lost their homes or property and for lawyers preparing to offer pro bono services may be found at Disaster Relief Clinic.
