Pepperdine Caruso Law Congratulates Samantha Mills

Pepperdine Caruso Law is happy to congratulate its newest bell-ringer in honor of post-graduate employment success, Samantha Mills! Joining Samantha in the festivites were Dean Paul Caron, Dean Shannon Phillips, Career Development Assistant Dean Laine Kontos and Associate Director Ann Chang, members of the Adminstrative Offices and Deans' Suite, Samantha's law school classmates, and her mom via Zoom. Prior to ringing the bell, Samantha thanked her parents for their guidance, and her friends for helping her get through law school.

Following graduation, Samantha will be an associate at Astuno Sabel APC. She found the position through the Career Development Office. Samantha used Simplicity to apply for a clerk position at Astuno Sabel APC and started work in December 2021. A few weeks after working there, she was given a post bar associate offer. Astuno Sabel has been a great firm to work for and Samantha is very grateful and excited. Astuno Sabel is primarily involved in civil litigation, including real estate litigation, commercial and business litigation, and personal injury.

Samantha attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for her undergraduate degree. She was a political science major with an emphasis in American politics, and a minor in history of art and architecture. She graduated with honors and with distinction for writing a thesis her senior year, which included receiving a research grant from the university. Samantha was also recruitment chair and president of her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma.

At Pepperdine Caruso Law, Samantha has worked for the past four semesters through the externship program, specifically in different civil litigation areas. She have been a member of the Women’s Legal Association and played on an intramural soccer team with other law students. She has also been pursuing a certificate in Dispute Resolution.

Samantha would like to thank her mom for being an incredible role model, as the managing partner of a law firm and a great mother, she has been such an inspiration for Samantha. She would also like to thank her brothers and her dad for supporting her. Additionally, her study group and her friends at Caruso Law, she would not be where she is without them.

Congratulations to Samantha!
