Intensive Class: Property, Taxes, and Theology | November 10-12

Pepperdine Caruso Law is offering the 1-unit intensive class, Property, Taxes, and Theology: Render Unto Caesar, on November 10-12, for all interested second and third-year students. The course will be taught by Professor Andrew Hayashi of the University of Virginia Law School.

Course description:

This course will explore taxation from a variety of Christian theological perspectives. We will examine how taxes influence the allocation and exercise of private property rights and thereby shape the kinds of communities, lives and relationships that people form. We will pay special attention to the role of property and taxation in creating the conditions for human flourishing and expressing Christian commitments to neighbor-love and care for creation.
