In Memoriam: Peter H. Wernicke (JD '74)

April 4, 2017 -- Pepperdine Law alumnus Peter H. Wernicke (JD '74) passed away on March 29 in Irvine, California.  A memorial service will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irvine on April 6, at 3:00 pm.

Peter received his early education in Germany prior to moving to the United States at the age of 22. Eventually he made his way to Pasadena where he met Suzanne Pritchard, the love of his life, and in 1969 they married. Together they had 2 children, Nicole and Eric.
After graduating from Pepperdine Law School in 1974, Peter opened his own family law practice in Santa Ana where he dedicated himself to helping people through some of the most challenging times in their lives. He was honored in 1993 to be admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court. Above all else, he truly cared about his clients.
A family man, Peter enjoyed time at home, playing and reading with his grandkids, riding bikes, movies, rock n' roll and diesel cars. He cherished his friendships. He is loved and sorely missed.
Peter is survived by his wife, Suzanne Wernicke; sister, Evelyn Hunold; brother, Dieter Wernicke; daughter, Nicole Lucio; son-in-law, Jesus Lucio; son, Eric Wernicke; daughter-in-law, Elenor Wernicke; and four granddaughters, Emma and Ella Bleu Lucio, and Valentina and Luciana Wernicke.
A memorial service will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irvine, California on Thursday April 6, 2017 at 3:00 pm
