Alumna Erin Brady (JD '01) named among "Top Attorneys Under 40" --Law360

April 17, 2016 --  Pepperdine Law alumna Erin Brady (JD '01) has been named to Law360's "Top Attorneys Under 40"  list.  The winners were selected based on their career accomplishments in their respective practice areas.  Brady is a partner at Jones Day LLP, Los Angeles, specializing in high-stakes bankruptcy litigation and corporate restructurings.

While Jones Day LLP partner Erin N. Brady was helping to prepare American Apparel Inc.'s restructuring plan, she was also fighting to protect a contested but crucial debtor financing deal for Relativity Media LLC, work that put her among Law360's top bankruptcy lawyers under the age of 40.

Brady, based in Los Angeles, is one of seven bankruptcy lawyers included in Law360's list of Rising Stars for her work on those major Chapter 11 cases and others.

Brady says that she finds the fast-paced, practical and the multilateral aspects of bankruptcy cases — which involve continually assessing potential allies and reconciling different proposals to maximize a debtor's value — more "invigorating" than traditional A versus B litigation.

"You can drive consensus or you can go to war. And I liked the idea that you can do both, depending on the players in your case and your clients' ultimate goals," Brady said.
