Dean Emeritus Deanell R. Tacha joins Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services

October 16, 2017 | By Kylie Larkin -- Dean Emeritus Deanell Reece Tacha has joined Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS), the largest provider of  mediation and arbitration service worldwide. Dean Tacha will be based in the Chicago Resolution Center and will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, and special master in disputes regarding Civil Rights, Education and Schools, Employment, Environmental, Government and Public Agency, Indian Law, Personal Injury and Torts, and Real Property.

Judge Tacha joins JAMS after more than 20 years of distinguished service on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, including seven years as Chief Judge of that court. On her retirement from the federal judiciary in 2011, Judge Tacha served as Dean of the Pepperdine University School of Law. She has significant experience in higher education as both an administrator and professor of law. She has taught in the areas of property law, oil and gas and administrative law. " Judge Tacha is known for her keen intellect, creative problem solving and ability to quickly grasp complex issues," said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. "Her background makes her a unique and talented neutral and we're thrilled to have her join our panel."
