In an effort to provide courses that meet the needs of professional students, the Straus Institute offers academic courses in a variety of formats at the Malibu campus and locations across the globe.
The Malibu campus offers courses in the traditional 15-week format, in addition to two weekend courses during the Fall and the Spring. During the summer, courses are only offered in a one-week and two-weekend format.
These intensive course formats provide students with an opportunity to complete the program on a part-time basis and attracts commuting students from a variety of locations including Texas, New Jersey, Tennessee, Alaska, Hawaii, Utah, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Arizona.
The Straus Institute training and conference programs are offered in Malibu, as well as other locations, including the Pepperdine University Irvine Graduate Campus.
In addition to the Malibu campus, the Straus Institute offered the following programs:
Starting Spring 2015, students can take up to 8 credit points at Heidelberg University Law School and earn an LLM from Pepperdine with only one semester of residence in Malibu, California.
Starting Spring 2015, students from the eastern United States can take 12 units of coursework in Tennessee in two-weekend intensive formats and complete their coursework in Malibu in just one semester, or spread it out over several years in one-week or two-weekend intensive formats.
Law professionals who cannot dedicate a year to the traditional LLM program in Malibu can participate in a pilot program with weekend courses in London, as well as intensive courses in Los Angeles. In California, participants will mediate 20 cases in the courts, observe commercial private sector mediations, and tour the largest court-annexed mediation program in the world.
