Transfer JD Student Admissions
Transfer applicants apply online through the LSAC website. The transfer application is available March 1st each year. The deadline to apply for Fall transfer is June 1 for international students and July 1 for domestic students. The Admissions Committee typically begins reviewing fall transfer applications at the beginning of June.
Transfer applicants must currently attend an ABA-accredited law school. To be considered competitive, transfer applicants should finish in the top 25% of their first-year class.
The amount of advanced standing credit to be allowed will be determined by the Academic Dean. Typically, 30 units of credit will be accepted, and no credit will be allowed for courses unless the student earned at least a D in such course. The maximum amount of credit allowed for transfer is 44 units.
There is no set minimum; however, the applicant needs to have completed the majority of Pepperdine's first-year required courses. They are:
- Civil Procedure
- Constitutional Law
- Contracts
- Criminal Law
- Introduction to Ethical Lawyering
- Legal Research & Writing I & II
- Property
- Torts
