Professor Sukhsimranjit Singh Leads “Voices of Peace: Dr. Singh and Global Leaders on Mediation” Podcast
In May, professor Sukhsimranjit Singh conducted interviews and listened to stories from diverse peace-makers on his podcast series, “Voices of Peace: Dr. Singh and Global Leaders on Mediation.” The purpose of the series is to spread the power of mediation across the globe.
During the series, Singh spoke with El Hadj Djitteye, the director of a global peace policy institute in Timbuktu. Singh listened to the ways in which Judge Daniel Weinstein, one of the co-founders of JAMS, is shaping the mediation world. Singh also engaged with Helen Winter, a colleague who runs a non-profit organization for refugees in Germany, and Victor Baba, who is changing the way mediation is taught in Kenya and throughout Africa. Finally, Singh heard the story of Maryam Shadid, a young woman from Pakistan who shared her ideas on managing emotions in difficult conflicts.
The podcast stories, each representing different nationalities and faiths, are united in the purpose of revealing how mediation can transform conflicts into opportunities for peace, growth, and understanding. Singh’s mission is to make these diverse narratives accessible to all, from professional colleagues in the United States to local communities worldwide.
