Professor Chris Goodman Gives Presentations on Teaching Justice, Developing Leaders, and Legacy Admissions -- AALS 2025 Annual Meeting
Professor Chris Chambers Goodman gave presentations on teaching justice, developing courageous leaders, and legacy admissions at the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) 2025 Annual Meeting. The annual meeting, titled "Courage in Action," took place in San Francisco on January 7-11.
On January 10, Professor Goodman presented "Legacy Admissions and Opportunities for Growth." Professor Goodman presented recent research on the impact of legacy admissions on diversity in higher education, and discussed opportunities and challenges for empirical research on the topic.
On January 11, Professor Goodman presented "How to Teach Justice in the Face of Nihilism: A Justice Exercise." Professor Goodman discussed how she motivates constitutional law students, given recent cases overturning years of precedent, and presented the pedagogical approach of the Justice Exercise that is part of her course.
On January 11, Professor Goodman also presented "Developing Courageous Leaders: Trailblazing and Diverse Approaches to Leadership Education for Law Students." Professor Goodman presented on the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations Toolkit for Launching Law Student Leaders.
