Nicholas McLaughlin and Ora Zarnegar Participate in ABA Representation in Mediation Competition
Pepperdine Caruso Law students Nicholas McLaughlin (2L) and Ora Zarnegar (2L) recently participated the ABA Representation in Mediation Competition. The case simulations involved an employment discrimination claim and commercial retail merchandising disputes. The competition was entirely online this year, and gathered 92 mediation teams in total, representing 52 law schools from across the country. Students play the roles of lawyer and clients in mediation, experience working with actual mediators, and learn the values of advocacy and mediation.
Faculty coach Professor Maureen Weston commended the team's excellent performance. The team was assisted in practice sessions by Caruso Law students Rachel Enders (3L) and Andrew Porth (2L).
