Michelle Chang (JD '10) Recognized by Variety as a Top Next Generational Entertainment Lawyer

May 1, 2018 |  Michelle Chang, a 2010 graduate of Pepperdine Law and associate at Ramo Law PC, is among ten honorees in Variety's "UP NEXT" Legal Impact report, which recognizes next generation entertainment lawyers.

While at Pepperdine, Michelle was a member and associate editor of the Law Review, participated in a summer program in London where her studies focused on international entertainment law, and served as a judicial intern at the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Her entertainment experience prior to joining Ramo Law includes RKO Pictures, Lions Gate, and Archstone Distribution. Ms. Chang focuses on financing and distribution legal services and provides general counsel services to production, sales, distribution and post-production companies, including Boardwalk Pictures, Electric City Entertainment, The Solution Entertainment Group, Vantage Media International and GoDigital. She also provides production legal services, and recent titles include "Speech & Debate" and "The Hollars" (for Sycamore Pictures), SXSW 2016 premieres "Slash," "Donald Cried"and "Teenage Cocktail," and projects for Netflix, including "Chef's Table," "Rebirth"and "Clinical."

This fall, Michelle will join the Preceptor Program and serve as a mentor to students throughout their first semester of law school.

"I've created close friendships through Pepperdine, and not just with people in the industry," Michelle says.

She adds, "My experience there informed how I engage with people as well, in developing relationships and finding ground with people from all walks of life."
