Mediation Clinic Update

The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law through the Mediation Clinic has collaborated with the City of Santa Monica to provide mediation for landlords and tenants who are navigating payment of deferred rent alongside city- and state-wide eviction moratorium orders in place through the end of the year. Pro bono services will be offered through the Straus Mediation Clinic and externship program.

This collaboration aims to equip commercial and residential landlords and tenants with an understanding of available options as they consider payment of deferred rent, including using alternative dispute resolution or civil litigation to move forward..

Professor Blondell hosted two Community Information Sessions on Mediation; the events were open to commercial and residential landlords and tenants on utilizing mediation to resolve rental disputes.
