Deconstructing Us: Self-Interrogation at the Intersection of Christian Worldview and Social Justice | February 2

Deconstructing Us: Self-Interrogation at the Intersection of Christian Worldview & Social Justice; February 2, 2021 12-1:30 PM PST via Zoom

Presented by CSOL Dean's Speaker Series and GSEP Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series. Dr. Anita Phillips, trauma therapist, author, life coach, and host of the podcast "In The Light with Dr. Anita Phillips", will join the Pepperdine community to share her paradigm-shifting insights at the intersection of mental health, spirituality, and culture.

1 Corinthians 12:2 reminds us that before we knew Christ, we were all led by "dumb idols". Join Dr. Anita Phillips on this idol-identification journey as we examine how cultural contexts misshape the image of God and riddle our Christian worldview with the blind spots that breed and maintain schisms in the Body, including racial division. Armed with the tools of honest self-reflection the ultimate solution becomes clear: equal doses of emotional intelligence and spiritual maturation. The presentation will be followed by a Q/A. Submit your questions to Dr. Phillips in the registration form.
